CoolSculting Side Effects
Cool Sculpting side effects are rare and minimal. Just as with any other aesthetic procedure, there are side effects, risks and complications.
Below are some of the normal coolsculpting side effects and they resolve within the first two weeks following the procedure. These are caused by prolonged suctioning and the exposure to cooling temperatures.
For some these will last minutes or several hours while for others these will last for days.
- Stabbing like sensation
- Pain and soreness.

Are there any Coolsculpting serious side effects?
There are no life threatening Cool Sculpting side effects that we are aware of. Serious side effects are very rare and we do the best to screen our patients prior to the treatment and ensure that they are candidates for the this procedure.
Which ares are the most vulnerable?
This depends, most painful are ares where the largest applicator is used, such as the abdomen for instance. Some report greater sensitivity and numbness in the arms also.
Will I be at risk for nerve damage?
Numbness is a common coolsculpting side effect and it can last up to 6 weeks. This can be very common in areas such as the arms. It is normal and no long term nerve damage has been reported that we are aware of.
Will my results with Coolsculpting be uneven as with the traditional liposuction procedure?
Swelling is common, however cooling is gradual and the results should be even if the procedure is performed correctly. Protocol is key. At My Petite Medispa, we are Diamond Certified and have performed over 2,300 CoolSculpting procedure to date. Choosing the right provider is key.
Will my skin lax as a result of the fat reduction volume?
The fat dies off gradually over a period of up to 4 months and the skin will contract accordingly. Some report skin tightening after the Cool Sculpting procedure, however this is not what the treatment claims to do or is intended for.
Will I get bumps from the Coolsculpting procedure?
Coolsculpting results in a steady fat loss and, unlike lipo suction this should not be the case. Coolsculpting is a technique driven treatment and you should choose a qualified provider. If the applicator is placed incorrectly a divot could possibly occur.
